Saturday 10th August: Join the sailing gang downstream where the river is wider and the wind cleaner. New sailors are welcome to go out with more experienced members. Meet at the club to travel downstream at 12:30 or come to the public hard on priory road (near the junction pub) and wave, we will pick you up.
Dear StD Members,
at Lymington is a splendid open air, sea water, swimming pool where it is possible to hire kayaks plus instructors for £10 per hour. This will be ideal for any of you who wish to learn or practice falling out of kayaks and how to get back in. Our previous sessions have done wonders for the confidence of beginners and for the skills of those with a few hours of paddling already under their spray decks. Deliberately falling out of a boat is a great way of conquering the fear of doing it accidentally! The previous sessions have also been good fun. If enough of you are interested, I will be happy to organise a session before summer is over. Please respond straight away so that I can judge demand and get a booking in. Splish splash, Jon jon.sims@live.co.uk As all members know, you each have a 'Sign Off Sheet' that says which boats you are free to use without supervision. These have recently been amended to allow for changes to our fleet. The sheets are kept in a large pink file under the Log Book desk. Please check your own sheet and make sure it is up to date. If you have any queries or would like to be signed off on any new boats, such as our new Scaffie 'Harry's Girl', please contact 023 80732868 or email jon.sims@live.co.uk. We have a team of authorised club members ready and willing to help you. Don't be shy!
